In order to help you get the best experience from either taking part or coming along to support the event, we have put together some frequently asked questions.

Q. Where does the parade start ?
A. The top of Prestatyn High Street on Saturday 19th July 2025.
Q. What time does the parade start?
A. 12 noon approx.
Q. How do I take part in the parade?
A. To pre-register your entry either fill in the contact form on the website, send an email to admin@prestatyncarnival.co.uk or message us on our Facebook page. On Carnival Day, report to the direction steward at Bodnant Community School in Nant Hall Road between 10.30 & 11.15am. Here you will be given your parade number and you can register your entry. You will then be directed by a Parade Marshal to Clwyd Avenue where the parade will line up.
Q. Does it cost to take part in the parade?
A. No. Entry is free. A charge of £10 is payable if you want to enter the 'Best Entry In The Parade' (Mayor's Theme) competition.

Q. What is the Mayor's Theme for 2025?
A. The Mayor will confirm his chosen theme before the end of 2024.
Q. During the parade, can I collect for my own charity, group or organisation?
A. No. Our licence from Denbighshire County Council only allows you to collect for us in our own Association buckets.

Q. Where do I get a collecting bucket from?
A. Should you wish to collect, you will be issued with an official collecting bucket when you report for parade entry. It will be collected from you on arrival at the field.

Q. Is there a charge to enter the carnival field, and when does it open to the public?
A. No, none whatsoever. Entry is free to all, unless you have booked a stall. The field opens to the public at 11am.
Q. Do you allow dogs on the carnival field?
A. Yes, but they MUST be kept on a lead, and owners MUST clean up any doggy mess.
Q. How do I book a stall on the carnival field?

Q. As a stall holder, what time can I arrive on the carnival field?
A. You need to arrive at the field between 7am and 10am. You will be directed to your position on arrival.

Q. Is there anywhere to park my car?
A. Designated free parking is available for all performers & stall holders.

Q. Is there a charge to enter the Fancy Dress competition?
A. The fancy dress competition will be judged in Clwyd Avenue before the start of the parade. There is no charge to enter.

Q. What time is the Dog Show and how do I enter my dog?
A. The dog show is at 2.30pm on the field. Registration is at the NCAR stand at 2pm. Fee per class £2.

Q. What time does the Fairground open and close on Carnival Day?
A. It opens at 11am approx, remaining open until 8pm appox.

Q. Do I have to provide my own insurance to enter the parade or book a stall on the field
A. Entry in the parade is at your own risk. All stall holders must provide a copy of their Public Liability

Q. How do I enter my baby in the Baby Show and how much does it cost?
A. The Baby Show takes place in Arena 1 at 2pm. Registration is between 1.30pm and 2pm at the Arena. It costs £2 per child to enter

Q. What happens if it rains?
A. We will all get wet ! Events will proceed as normal, if at all possible.
Certain field events may be curtailed or cancelled if the ground is waterlogged beyond our control.
