Carnival Day begins with the Grand Parade, which leaves the top of Prestatyn High Street at 12 noon.
 
PARADE ROUTE
 
The parade travels down Prestatyn High Street, turning left into Bridge Road, then heading right to make its way over the railway bridge, bearing right off the bridge, before turning left into Bastion Road. The parade continues through the traffic lights, heading straight down Bastion Road, passing the Fun Fair on the right hand side, before turning right into Beach Road East. The final turn sees the parade exit right into Beach Close, which leads directly to the Carnival Field.
 
PARADE COMPETITIONS
 
Anyone can take part in the Carnival Parade, unless deemed inappropriate by the Organisers.
Parade entry is free, unless you would like to enter any of the parade competitions, when a small charge is payable. Below are details of the parade categories.
 
THE MAYOR'S THEME - for Best Entry in the parade. The Mayor's Theme for 2017 will be announced at a later date, and will be kindly sponsored by Prestatyn Town Council.
First Prize: £100; Second Prize: £50; Third Prize: £25. Entry Fee: £5. (The Mayor's Theme ONLY applies to this category)

BEST ADULT GROUP - First Prize: Trophy & Certificate; Certificate & Medal for Second and Third. Entry Fee: £2.
 
BEST JUVENILE GROUP - First Prize: Trophy & Certificate; Certificate & Medal for Second and Third. Entry Fee: £2.
 
BEST ADVERTISING ENTRY - First Prize: Trophy & Certificate; Certificate & Medal for Second and Third. Entry Fee: £2.
 
 
BEST ENTRY FROM A CHARITY OR VOLUNTARY GROUP - First Prize: The "Ivy Kay Memorial Shield" & Certificate; Certificate & Medal for Second and Third. Entry is Free.
 
BEST VISITING QUEEN'S VEHICLE - First Prize: Trophy & Certificate; Certificate & Medal  for Second and Third. Entry Fee £2.
 
A SIGNATURE IS REQUIRED FOR EACH TROPHY, WHICH MUST BE RETURNED TO THE ASSOCIATION AFTER 11 MONTHS.
 
All those wishing to take part in the parade, including any competition, must report to the Direction Steward outside Bodnant Community School in Nant Hall Road between 10.30 and 11.15 AM for your Parade Number. The Parade will assemble in Clwyd Avenue. Judging of competition entries will commence at 11.30 AM in parade position.
